According to the official Twitter account for the upcoming gaming event, Naoki Yoshida, a long-time Square Enix employee and the producer of Final Fantasy XIV and XVI, will be in attendance for a “very special live presentation.” If this isn’t a confirmation of an FF16 trailer being shown off next week, we don’t know what is. With that said, fans can tune in on December 8 at 7:30 PM ET / 4:30 PM PT to know more of the reason why Yoshida will be at this year’s The Game Awards.

However, all signs indicate this new launch window for FF16 is final. It also helps that the timed PS5-exclusive title was spotted being rated in Brazil recently. This all but guarantees that we’re going to hear more about FF16 sooner rather than later after getting a brief new trailer last month. Final Fantasy XVI marks Yoshi-P’s first time serving as a producer of a single-player mainline installment to the beloved JRPG franchise. He is widely credited for the success of FF14. If Yoshi-P can find a way to bring some of that magic from the popular MMORPG, FF16 might be able to usher in a new era for Final Fantasy. Square Enix is set to release both Final Fantasy 16 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth next year.
