However, there is currently no indication that the games will have a new Eeveelution, despite rumors to the contrary. The soon to be released Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the first open-world role playing games (RPG) in the Pokémon series. They take place on Paldea – a region that is reminiscent of Mediterranean Spain. Usually, Game Freak, Pokémon’s developer, adds a new Eeveelution every even-numbered generation. However, they did not add one for the game’s eighth generation leading users to speculate that generation nine, which starts with Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, will have one. While that is not the case, the games will have the following Eeveelutions:
Vaporeon Jolteon Flareon Espeon Umbreon Leafeon Glaceon Sylveon.
While Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will have several recurring characters, they will also feature new Pokémon forms. From the games’ trailer (below), players will have three options when it comes to choosing a Pokémon partner: Grass-type Sprigatito, Water-type Quaxly, and Fire-type Fuecoco. The games will also include two Legendary Pokémon – Koraidon and Miraidon. Koraidon is exclusive to Pokémon Scarlet, alongside Larvitar and Stonjourner, while Miraidon is exclusive to Pokémon Violet, alongside Bagon and Eiscue. Fans expect more version exclusive Pokémon will be announced in due course. Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will also feature version exclusive characters. The former will have Professor Sada, while the latter will have Professor Tudo. Another marked difference between the two games are the academies that players’ characters will study at. In Pokémon Scarlet, the player’s character will be a student at the Naranja Academy and wear a uniform with an orange color palette. In Pokémon Violet, the player’s character will be a student at the Uva Academy and wear a uniform with a purple color palette.
