While we’ve no clue about the game’s release date, Naoki Yoshida did confirm that we’ll be getting a new trailer in a few weeks. According to Yoshida during the NGC livestream, a new FF16 trailer will be released soon. In addition to this, Yoshida, otherwise known to fans as “Yoshi-P”, expressed confidence that the story of FF16 will deliver a “thrilling rollercoaster ride from beginning to end.” Coincidentally, Yoshida’s statement coincides with rumors that a State of Play showcase will take place later this month. We’re still curious about how Square Enix will juggle releasing three big AAA titles in quick succession. Keep in mind that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will launch just months following the arrival of Final Fantasy 16. Not to mention, Forspoken is still on for a January 24 launch. It’s a lot in a single year for a company that’s traditionally conservative. It wouldn’t surprise us if we get a mid-year announcement that FF7 Rebirth, the last of the three, has been pushed back to early 2024. Regardless of what happens, the next two years are going to be huge for the Final Fantasy franchise, starting with the release of the FF7 Crisis Core remake in December.
