What can fans expect to see in Venom 3?

Venom: Let There Be Carnage premiered earlier this year to mixed reviews. But, even before it was released, Tom Hardy confirmed that a third movie was coming on the condition that the second film does well. This is exactly what happened after Venom 2 grossed over $500 million at the global box office. What’s more, if this isn’t enough proof, Amy Pascal went ahead and confirmed that Venom 3 was already in the works earlier this December. Fast forward to today and most comic book fans have had a chance to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home. In addition to setting a pandemic box office record, No Way Home treated audiences to a sequence that details exactly how Sony plans on bringing Venom to the MCU and vice versa. A post-credits scene saw Eddie Brock go from his universe to the MCU only to be pulled back to his universe but not before leaving a smudge of symbiote behind. Now, details about Venom 3 have begun to emerge, courtesy of Daniel Richtman.

— Spider-Man News and Leaks (@DiegoNoWayHome) December 27, 2021 According to the trusted industry insider, Venom 3 will “explore the multiverse” and see “Venom finally meeting and fighting Spider-Man.” In addition to this, Richtman’s report states that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man from Sony’s pair of The Amazing Spider-Man films will be the one to face off against Tom Hardy’s lethal protector. Interestingly enough, the report comes right around the same time that rumors that The Amazing Spider-Man films take place in the same continuity as Morbius and the Venom movies. In addition to this, we also reported on Sony’s “plans” to bring back Andrew Garfield for a third Spider-Man film with room for potentially more. At the end of the day, it’s best to remember that these are all just rumors. Until Sony or Marvel confirms anything, it’s best to take what you just read with a grain of salt. For now, Spider-Man fans can look forward to Sony’s other Spider-Man projects. For example, Sony just dropped a trailer for Across the Spider-Verse, the sequel to 2018’s Oscar-winning Into the Spider-Verse, with Miles Morales coming back to team up with “a new team of Spider-People”. Meanwhile, Morbius just got a new trailer ahead of its premiere on January 28, 2022.
