Warner Bros. has seemingly pinned its hopes on The Flash and is moving up the schedule by a week to June 16, 2023. The film was originally slated for release on June 23, 2023. By moving up the schedule, The Flash is set to take on Disney Pixar’s new animated movie Elemental and No Hard Feelings, a movie starring Jennifer Lawrence. Fans are excited that the Scarlet Speedster will finally have a solo movie after the CW series debuted in 2014. The movie went through development hell before Andy Muschietti was tasked to lead the project. The Flash cycled through several writers, directors, and release dates before Muschietti took over. Adding to the development woes were the legal issues that Miller faced. The actor was arrested twice in Hawaii following physical altercations and was charged with burglary in Vermont. Miller released a statement apologizing for past behavior and stating that the actor had recently “gone through a time of intense crisis.” Miller has also started treatment for “complex mental health issues”.

What we know about The Flash movie

Very little is known about the movie at this point. It will be a while before we get to see the trailer for the upcoming superhero flick as the movie is still in post-production following the filming of additional scenes. We do know that the movie will take on the Flashpoint storyline which was published by DC Comics in 2011. In the story arc, travels back in time to prevent the murder of his mother by his archnemesis Reverse Flash. By going back in time, Barry Allen creates a new timeline where Bruce Wayne was killed by robbers, instead of his parents being killed. Subsequently, Martha Wayne goes insane and becomes The Joker, while Thomas Wayne dons the mantle of Batman, albeit one that employs lethal force. Michael Keaton will be reprising his role as Batman while Sasha Calle makes her DC Universe debut as Supergirl. Michael Shannon will be returning as the Kryptonian General Zod. Ben Affleck will also be portraying Batman in the movie while Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa will be making their return as Superman and Aquaman, respectively. Gal Gadot will be making an appearance in the movie as Wonder Woman. The actor inadvertently revealed her role in the movie through an Instagram post. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a photo of her in the dressing room with makeup artists wearing “The Flash” lanyards and another where she is wearing her Wonder Woman tiara. Warner Bros. and DC Studios are hinging the start of the James Gunn era on The Flash movie. It was recently reported that Wonder Woman 3 has been canceled in its current state while Man of Steel 2’s future is still up in the air. Aquaman is also rumored to be Jason Momoa’s final outing as the Atlantean King. The Flash will be speeding into theaters on June 16, 2023.
