So far, some of the games included in the leak have been announced, such as the God of War PC port. Meanwhile, others have corroborated the existence of the other titles, including a remake of Chrono Cross. All in all, the leak is pretty extensive. It includes dozens of titles, which is why we understand if you find it difficult to keep up. Below, we round up the biggest games that were included in the leak by Nvidia GeForce Now.
Ghost of Tsushima PC Port - February 7, 2022
With 6.5 million units sold in a little over a year, Ghost of Tsushima is easily one of the most successful PlayStation exclusives of all time. It’s no wonder Sony decided to revisit the Sucker Punch Productions title in 2021, giving it a facelift with new content for the PS5 with Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. However, before Sony confirmed the next-gen upgrade for Ghost of Tsushima, we reported on a potential PC port of Ghost of Tsushima and God of War. The latter is already confirmed, which only leaves us with the former. With God of War and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End already on their way to the PC, Ghost of Tsushima and Marvel’s Spider-Man are the next set of exclusives left that haven’t been ported over followed by Infamous Second Son and Final Fantasy VII Remake. TLDR; it all feels like it’s only a matter of time before Sony confirms Ghost of Tsushima for PC, especially with a live-action adaptation coming up.
Returnal PC Port - April 30, 2022
You could consider Returnal as Housemarque’s audition piece for Sony. After releasing the unique rogue-like shooter with a confusing ending, Housemarque joined PlayStation Studios and that was pretty much the last we heard of the game. Admittedly, Returnal isn’t for everyone, but you could also say the same for Hideo Kojima’s latest title, Death Stranding. Because PC gamers are more receptive to divisive titles, Returnal could end up getting a new lease in life with potentially more content via a PC release.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake PC Port - June 1, 2022
This is more of a shoo-in than anything else. After porting Final Fantasy XV over to the PC two years after its initial release on consoles, many expected Square Enix to do the same for Cloud Strife’s latest adventure. The remake of the 1997 classic RPG was a huge hit, so much so that fans have been desperate for an update for when Part II (and possibly part III) are going to release. After releasing additional content along with the game’s PS5 release earlier this year, dataminers found data of an FF7 Remake PC port on the Epic Games Store. Then, earlier this month, details about a potential Xbox release were also spotted. When you consider the lack of news for Part II of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Square Enix would do well to tide fans over with a multi-platform port of Part I sometime in 2022.
Dragon Age 4 - June 5, 2022
Earlier this year, an EA earnings call revealed some key details about Dragon Age 4. We found out from EA CFO Blake Jorgensen that Dragon Age 4 might release anytime between now and March 31, 2022. In addition to this Jorgensen revealed EA’s plans to make Dragon Age 4 a next-gen exclusive. Seeing that EA already has plans to release the game within 2022, we wouldn’t be surprised if the leak is spot on with its “placeholder” date of June 5, 2022.
Forza Motorsport 8 - August 8, 2022
Except for 2019 and 2020, Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have taken turns releasing Forza Games. After Playground Games released Forza Horizon 5 earlier this year, which, by the way, set a new Xbox Game Studios record, it’s now time for Turn 10 Studios to release the next Forza Motorsport game. But, if we’re being honest, Turn 10 would probably benefit from a year off from the usual cycle and release this game in 2023. Forza Horizon 5 was a particularly strong entry and with more content coming in 2022, it would feel like the two would overlap if the next Forza Motorsport game was released just a year after.
Horizon Forbidden West PC Port - September 30, 2022
First things first, we know that Horizon Forbidden West is going to release on the PC eventually - we’re just not quite sold on the port coming in the same year as the PS4/PS5 release. After Guerilla Games confirmed the delay for Forbidden West, a PC port likely wasn’t going to come so soon. It might still happen, but we doubt it. Between the proximity and the fact that the God of War PC port will release just a few months earlier makes us think that Sony will want to stagger its PC ports a bit more.
Ratchet & Clank PC Port - October 3, 2022
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the frontrunner to win the 2021 Game of the Year award alongside Deathloop. If it wins, don’t be surprised if Sony jumps on the bandwagon and releases more content for the PS-exclusive along with the announcement that the series was headed to the PC for the first time in nearly two decades.
Resident Evil 4 Remake - November 1, 2022
Technically, fans already got a Resident Evil 4 Remake earlier this year. Sure, it was more of a VR port of the game with the necessary tweaks and modifications, but it still was re-built enough to feel like a completely different game. As for an actual remake though, fans have speculated about its existence for several years. Besides, it doesn’t take an expert to know that Capcom probably wants to remake one of its most influential titles ever after doing Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 back in 2019 and 2020, respectively. With Capcom expected to release more DLC for Resident Evil Village soon, a remake of RE4 would help keep the ball rolling and keep the series’ fans satisfied until Resident Evil 9 releases in 2024 or 2025.
Tekken 8 - December 1, 2022
It’s been 4 years since Bandai Namco released Tekken 7 in 2017. Although this isn’t the longest time the series has not gone without a new installment (the gap between Tekken 6 and Tekken 7 was 10 years), it’s still a pretty long time to go without a new Tekken Game, especially after how well-received Tekken 7 was by audiences and critics alike. Thankfully, it appears that the next Tekken title is going to release before 2022 ends. Even if this isn’t confirmed information, a Twitter user spotted Tekken 8 being added as a new game earlier this year, which suggests that an announcement is imminent.
Injustice 3: Gods Will Fall - January 3, 2023
Injustice 2 is one of the best fighting games and superhero games around. NetherRealm Studios’ decision to add more mechanics and features to the game helped give it much more longevity, while the story was just as good if not better than the first time. All things considered, the series could have ended there and we’d all be happy. Of course, a third go-around wouldn’t be half bad, especially after that awful Injustice animated movie that fans got this year. We just don’t think that NetherRealm is going to release Injustice 3 this soon. The studio’s already confirmed that it’s prioritizing work on Mortal Kombat XII over Injustice 3, so the Nvidia GeForce Now leak might have gotten the dates all wrong.
Mortal Kombat XII - April 3, 2023
Speaking of Mortal Kombat XII, NetherRealm confirmed that it’s already finished working on Mortal Kombat XI. After we found out that this project wasn’t Multiversus, NetherRealm could be working on Mortal Kombat XII right now. Surprisingly enough, the Nvidia GeForce Now leak makes no mention of NetherRealm’s rumored Marvel fighting game, which suggests that it was just mere speculation.
Black Myth: Wukong - May 30, 2023
Black Myth: Wukong has got to be one of the most ambitious games out there in terms of sheer size and scale relative to its studio. A true next-gen title that looks and feels the part, Black Myth: Wukong will have plenty of doubters, naysayers, and fans all the same once it releases. After giving us an extensive trailer earlier this year, the developers will have at least two years to work on Black Myth: Wukong and make sure that it meets all the expectations.
Fable 4 - October 12, 2023
Now that Playground Games is done working on Forza Horizon 5, it can shift its focus towards the next Fable game. Microsoft has already apologized for not having to show for it after its initial announcement. Don’t expect Microsoft to do it again. If the October 12, 2023 release date for Fable 4 is true, then we can expect Microsoft to drop the first announcement trailer for Fable 4 at E3 2022.
The Elder Scrolls VI - January 2, 2024
The 2024 release date of The Elder Scrolls VI feels believable. We already know that it’s in its design phase and is planned to be an Xbox exclusive. In addition to this, Bethesda Softworks’ priority is Starfield, describing the upcoming 2022 title as the kind of game that would have never been made had the studio not decided to work on it right now. If nothing else, Bethesda might push back The Elder Scrolls VI even further to 2025 especially if it feels like the game still isn’t complete by then. We can only hope that Bethesda doesn’t re-release Skyrim again in the interim to make up for a potential delay.
Crysis 4 - October 25, 2024
After Crysis 3, it just didn’t make sense for Crytek to release Crysis 4 anymore. The story had already reached its peak and the allure of a game that would “melt your PC” had already worn off by then. Crysis Remastered Trilogy helped breathe new life into the FPS series, but we don’t think Crytek is working on Crysis 4. This isn’t to say that Crytek isn’t working on a new Crysis game though. If we assume that Crysis Remastered Trilogy sold well, Crytek could release a soft reboot of the franchise and bring it back to the open-world sandbox gameplay (complete with next-gen graphics) that made the first Crysis game so memorable.
