Both Tom Henderson and TheGhostofHope claim that the paid DLC will be a “greatest hits” map pack that includes fan-favorite Call of Duty maps. In addition, the latter claims that the next Call of Duty game will get remastered versions of a majority of the maps from the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which came out in 2009. The wording of the leak is interesting. We can understand if Infinity Ward will bring back the maps from the original game. But, it appears the games by Treyarch and Sledgehammer are part of the bundle as well. If this is true, we’re curious to see how well each map will work. Other Call of Duty maps are made for a unique title with different movements. Speaking of interesting things, TheGhostOfHope holds disputed information. Even though other sources aren’t contradicting the DLC report, others are contesting what the leak said about Sledgehammer Games’ Advanced Warfare sequel. Even if there isn’t a new Call of Duty game next year, a premium DLC for Modern Warfare 2 is still rare for the franchise. Activision Blizzard usually gives away Call of Duty DLC for free. However, it isn’t without precedent. Treyarch’s Black Ops 3, which came out in 2015, got the Zombie Chronicle DLC pack two years later in 2017 for $30. This is just one of the many examples of previous Call of Duty games asking for money.
