Mr. Beast shares photos of his real-life Squid Game set
No one could have predicted the success that Netflix’s Quid Game would have. After premiering on September 17, 2021, the South Korean survival drama went on to set new viewership records for the streaming platform. The hit series is a culmination of Netflix’s investment in the South Korean scene a few years ago, making it one of Netflix’s highest-earning series in terms of how much value the show added to Netflix and how much it cost Netflix to produce it. Just as Squid Game continues to rack up viewership numbers nearly two months into its launch, so too have the attempts to do the same in real life. Most recently, a real-life Squid Game took place in Abu Dhabi that saw contests compete in a less bloody version of the show’s “red light green light” game, as well as the Dalgona candy challenge, among others. Now, YouTube Mr. Beast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, wants to one-up everyone else with a massive real-life Squid Game version.
— MrBeast (@MrBeast) November 3, 2021 As you can see from the images, MrBeast isn’t playing around. His real-life Squid Game set looks awfully a lot like the playground-like environments of the show. Of course, it remains to be seen just how successful MrBeast’s attempt at recreating Squid Game in real life is, but he’s got several thousand potential viewers interested in watching it from start to finish. Mr. Beast announced his plans for his real-life Squid Game back in October and he’s worked hard to make it a reality since. He’s spent the past few weeks gathering contestants from his followers on TikTok, as well as building the set. He previously revealed that he spent $2 million to make his recreation happen, which presumably includes the $456,000 cash prize for the lone winner of the game out of the 456 contestants. Thankfully, it won’t be long before we get a chance to see the result of MrBeast’s efforts. His version of Squid Game is set to kick off sometime next week, so be sure to stay tuned to know more about the results of MrBeast’s latest stunt.
