When is the third Venom movie going to release?
Speaking recently, Spider-Man: No Way Home producer did not explicitly confirm that Tom Hardy is going to come back as Venom for the third time. Instead, all she had to say was that the movie is “in the planning stages right now.” She then clarified that the focus right now is on “getting everybody to come and see No Way Home.” It makes sense that Sony wants to focus on No Way Home right now. The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film is set to premiere exclusively in theaters on December 17, 2021. Tom Hardy’s time as Eddie Brock has not sat well with critics. The 2021 sequel, Let There Be Carnage, received mixed reviews in early screenings. However, both movies have been well-loved by audiences. The two films have been described as one of the few comic book adaptations to have “understood the assignment”, suggesting that it’s as close to the source material as a comic book film can get. True enough, audiences have spoken about how much they love both Venom movies by flocking theaters to watch them. Speaking of Let There Be Carnage, the Venom sequel broke several pandemic-era box office records. Had the movie not premiered around the same time as No Time to Die, which went on to set the record for the highest-grossing international pandemic-era film, we’re confident that Let There Be Carnage could have done more. In the same interview, Pascal also took the time to discuss how Sony will work with Marvel/Disney in the future, saying that they are “all very careful to work with each other in a way that is additive for everybody.” Tom Hardy already mentioned earlier this year that Venom 3 will happen if Venom 2 does well. Pascal’s words all but confirmed that this is indeed the case. Unfortunately, we won’t know when Venom 3 is going to come for a while. Until then, fans can keep their eyes focused on No Way Home, which is the conclusion to Tom Holland’s first MCU trilogy. We say first because Pascal herself confirmed in an earlier interview that Holland is coming back to reprise his role for another trilogy. In other Spider-Man news, Sony just dropped the first teaser trailer and release date for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse will premiere exclusively in theaters on October 7, 2022.
