With roughly half a year left before Miles Morales and a host of Spider-Man variants swing their way into cinemas, Sony just confirmed when the next trailer for the Spider-Man sequel will arrive. According to the new image uploaded throughout the film universe’s official social media accounts, a “new view” of Across the Spider-Verse will arrive on December 13.
— Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse (@SpiderVerse) December 3, 2022 The first trailer for Across the Spider-Verse all but confirmed what was already on the minds of fans following the end of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. However, apart from showing us a new unseen world and a glimpse at Spider-Man 2099, the trailer didn’t really reveal anything else. This upcoming footage should be more telling of what to expect, even if we’re pretty sure Sony will still find a way to keep us guessing until the credits start rolling. But, while we know very little about the plot of Across the Spider-Verse, we do know that it will feature at least six major art styles. In comparison, the original only has a single art style dominating the entire film. Fingers crossed, we’ll get a better look at most of the said art styles in a few weeks’ time. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was initially going to premiere in October before Sony delayed it to its current premiere date of June 2. A few days later, Sony gave the second half of what was initially planned as a two-part sequel a new name. But, before then, the people behind the SpiderVerse hinted at the possibility that the Marvel Cinematic Universe could crossover into one of the SpiderVerse films one of these days. Although part of us doubt if this will happen, the fact that Spider-Man: No Way Home brought together three different generations of Spider-Man in one film leaves us hopeful.
