So far, Peacemaker’s been quite the revelation. After the rather low box office numbers of The Suicide Squad at the global box office, fans weren’t quite sure with what to expect with the first series in the DC Extended Universe. But, thanks to Gunn’s clever writing and direction, as well as Cena’s performance, Peacemaker has been nothing short of a hit. With only a handful of episodes to go, fans are on the edge of their seats as the story nears its conclusion. For episode 6, we’ll see more of August “Auggie” Smith’s vigilante persona, White Dragon. He is the father of John Cena’s titular character and is the one responsible for training Peacemaker as a weapon since birth. Peacemaker’s White Dragon is a departure from the comic book origins. In the TV series, White Dragon is an original version. However, White Dragon does retain some of its comic book traits, such as acting as a foil to the Suicide Squad as well as being a Neo-Nazi and white supremacist. For most of Peacemaker’s debut season, we’ve seen Cena’s character struggle with his violent nature and if he can continue with the path that he’s led without feeling remorse. In particular, we found out just how much Peacemaker’s brother’s death at a young age continues to affect him until now. On top of this, Peacemaker’s father isn’t exactly model material as the show builds up to an eventual and possibly deadly confrontation between the two. What’s interesting here in episode 6’s trailer is that White Dragon is out. The only times we’ve seen Auggie in Peacemaker is behind bars and in prison. Not to mention, Amanda Waller made sure that things stayed that way. However, with Auggie out and about, we’re curious to find out more about how Peacemaker’s father broke out of jail and what’s going to happen. The silver lining here is that episode 6 of Peacemaker will be released on HBO Max next Thursday. In other Peacemaker news, James Gunn just revealed that the eccentric anti-hero is going to return for another DCEU movie in the future. Meanwhile, Gunn also talked more about his other upcoming project, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The Suicide Squad director just confirmed that the OG crew featuring Star-Lord won’t be returning after the third Guardians of the Galaxy film.
