After premiering to rave critical reviews back in October, the Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed Bond film set a new pandemic record as the highest-grossing Hollywood movie of the past two years. Craig’s swan song as the titular spy eclipsed F9’s $725 million last weekend, making well over $733 million as it now only trails two other Chinese films as far as the global box office goes. In total, No Time to Die made $154 million at the domestic box office and over $574 million internationally. The film now only trails Lian Ray Pictures’ Hi, Mom, and Huaxia Film Distribution’s The Battle at Lake Changjin, at the international box office.
What’s next for Daniel Craig after No Time to Die?
Craig’s run as arguably the most financially successful and influential James Bond has finally come to an end after more than a decade. Now, fans are looking forward to seeing what else Craig has up to next. Unfortunately, the English actor doesn’t appear to have many films lined up following No Time to Die. Craig is expected to reprise his role as Detective Benoit Blanc in Knives Out 2, but it remains unclear when the untitled sequel to the 2019 surprise hit is going to release. In the meantime, you’ll want to watch No Time to Die in theaters if it’s still available in your area. Similar to previous films in the series, No Time to Die opened first in the UK before making its way abroad to the United States as well as other markets. As for who is going to replace Craig, the longtime Bond actor doesn’t care who’s next. On the other hand, several other actors have stepped up to the plate and expressed their interest in wanting to become the next James Bond. One of the more prominent actors to voice their desire to play the dashing and debonaire 007 is none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. In addition to The Rock, the MCU’s longtime Spider-Man, Tom Holland, also reportedly told his close friend Jacob Batalon that he’s always wanted to play James Bond in a movie. Either way, it appears that studio executives aren’t in any hurry to replace Craig and announce a new James Bond. Until then, fans will just have to make do with the usual set of leaks and speculation.
