Hollywood has tried and subsequently failed to make a film based on Dungeons & Dragons before. However, based on all that we’ve seen so far, Honor Among Thieves could make up for all of the blasphemous past attempts. The ensemble cast alone is well worth the price of admission. It features well-known class archetypes with fittingly cast actors to boot. This all but guarantees the film will at least make for some light medieval fantasy fun. As always, the stingy and observant D&D fanbase couldn’t help but nitpick after looking at the latest Honor Among Thieves poster. The main criticism of the poster is it’s asymmetrical and lacks composition. It’s even been described as bland, as if an intern made it. Despite its shortcomings, it does an excellent job of showcasing the all-star cast that has signed on to become fodder for critics and audiences alike come March. If it’s any consolation, the consensus among fans is they’re looking forward to seeing Honor Among Thieves in theaters. It’s Hollywood’s first attempt to cash in on the sprawling RPG franchise ever since the 2000 adaptation, Dungeons & Dragons. However, unlike the older, more critically-panned outing, audiences are expressing excitement to seeing the cast do their respective characters justice. More importantly, fans are responding positively to the level of detail displayed throughout the multiple trailers we’ve seen so far. You know that a film is going to be good when fans roast the hell out of the new poster and they still want to see it on the big screen. Paramount Pictures originally scheduled Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves to hit theaters on March 3 but the studio later delayed its premiere to March 31. It’s presumed this was done to avoid clashing with the premieres of Creed III, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and John Wick: Chapter 4.
