With that said, the new Nintendo Switch Pro leak, courtesy of Nintendo of Mexico, might be the most credible confirmation of the long-rumored more powerful version of the Nintendo Switch outside of an official announcement.
When Will the New Nintendo Switch Pro Release?
Now, before anything else, the new Nintendo Switch Pro is literally called, New Nintendo Switch Pro. As tacky as it might sound, the name is another reason why the leak is legitimate. After all, Nintendo hasn’t been exactly known to be creative with naming their consoles. If you take a look at its history, Nintendo has consoles named like the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the New 3DS, as well as the New 3DS XL. In addition to the naming scheme that seems to fit Nintendo’s history, the New Nintendo Switch Pro leak literally comes from Nintendo. Or, at least, from Nintendo of Mexico.
— Wario64 (@Wario64) May 28, 2021 Coincidentally, a new Bloomberg report from an unnamed industry insider claimed that Nintendo is planning to start assembling the New Nintendo Switch Pro in July to make sure that it’s ready by September or October. The new variant of the hybrid console by Nintendo would be sold at a higher price point. Meanwhile, Nintendo will continue offering the Switch Lite at the same $199 price point. The report claims that Nintendo will eventually phase out the original Switch. On top of this, the same report claims that Nintendo might announce the New Nintendo Switch Pro ahead of E3 2021, which starts on June 12. Unfortunately, until Nintendo comes out with an official announcement, none of what we just said can be considered factual, so be sure to take it with a grain of salt. But, at the same time, there seems to be too much of a coincidence for the New Nintendo Switch Pro not to be true and for it not to be released soon. If the New Nintendo Switch Pro will indeed release in September or October 2021, then it will arrive just in time for the Holiday season and before the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
