Just in case you didn’t know, Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi are set to reunite for Thor: Love and Thunder. However, the upcoming Thor movie is going to shine the spotlight on a couple more faces. Case in point, Thor’s former paramour, Jane Foster, will return for Thor: Love and Thunder. But, that’s not all. Natalie Portman is going to appear as her version of the God of Thunder. To do this effectively, the award-winning actress had to bulk up from her usual svelte frame and the internet just can’t get enough of it.

Natalie bulks up to give Thor portrayal justice

Chris has spent more than a decade making guys feel jealous and women drool with all of his workout photos. However, it appears that Natalie isn’t about to let his on-screen partner get all of the glory. Following her departure from the MCU years ago, Portman is coming back as Jane Foster. In her return, she’s not just going to upend Thor’s life after Thor openly pined for her numerous times throughout several MCU films, but she’s quite literally going to steal some of his thunder. To play the role of The Mighty Thor, Portman had to make sure that her physique was up to par. It appears that this is exactly what she did. After seeing Natalie bringing out the big guns and her interview with Vanity Fair where she revealed all the prep work she put in, fans can’t contain their excitement for Thor: Love and Thunder any longer. ost hardcore fans know that Foster’s appearance is taken straight from the comics. But the MCU has been known to take some liberties. Because of this, audiences shouldn’t expect the live-action superhero film to be a word-for-word copy of the comic storyline that it is based on. For example, how will Jane Foster get Thor’s power in Love and Thunder? Stormbreaker isn’t exactly enchanted, unlike Mjolnir. Meanwhile, Mjolnir is long gone. Thor’s original hammer was smashed into dust by his sister, Hela, and Cap returned the 2013 version to Asgard when he went time-traveling all over after the Avengers successfully defeated Thanos. Perhaps Gorr the God Butcher is involved somehow? At this point, the only way to know is to wait for Love and Thunder to release.

When is the Thor: Love and Thunder premiere date?

Unfortunately, we’ve got some bad news for excited fans out there. Audiences will have to wait for a while to get a chance to watch Thor: Love and Thunder. Thor’s next solo MCU outing isn’t expected to premiere until May 6, 2022, and that’s if things go according to plan. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, premiere dates aren’t exactly for certain. Case in point, Paramount Pictures just pushed back the launch dates of several of its movies by a couple of months. The good news is that there are a handful of MCU films that are already available and coming soon that should tide fans over. At the moment, the well-reviewed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is available to watch in theaters. The Simu Liu-led MCU film pulled in $71.4 million domestically in its opening weekend. After this, Eternals is set to drop on November 5, 2021, followed by Spider-Man: No Way Home and Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness on December 17, 2021, and March 25, 2022, respectively.
