As Paul has been known to do on his YouTube channel, the popular social media personality went ahead and shared his most recent coup with his fans. According to Paul, he spent $3.5 million buying a box of first edition base set Pokemon cards. However, as you might be able to tell from the title of the video, Paul ended up wasting his money. The unboxing shows him alongside card collector, Matt Allen, as well as the owner of Baseball Card Exchange, Steve Hart, and other BBCE employees, talking about the box set, with the BBCE insisting that it is authentic. After pouring himself a glass of wine, Paul and the rest of the group decides to open the box to prove if it is authentic or not. For a moment, the group believes BBCE. After opening the box, it contained “Booster Boxes” with clear plastic seals. The only problem, as pointed out by a BBC employee, is that the boxes don’t look right. It is at this point that everyone goes quiet as the BBC owner pulls out a booster box, which allows everyone present in the room to confirm that the entire box is fake with incorrect labels and content. For someone who just got duped for $3.5 million, Paul had a bit of a laugh. He also added that his million-dollar Charizard card is much more important to him now after falling for what has to be one of the most lucrative scams in recent memory. If it’s any consolation, the vendor has reimbursed the older Paul for his fake collectibles. Bolilo Lajan San mentioned that he’d already paid Logan Paul back his money. Shyne revealed in an Instagram Story post that he is now going after the party that sold him the cards in the first place. He’ll now see if the process is going to go smoothly or “if it turns into a drawn-out scenario.” As trading cards become a lucrative business, so too have the number of scams. Perhaps this is inevitable in an industry involving huge sums of money. If we’re being honest though, Paul probably shouldn’t feel too bad about this whole ordeal. At least, he got a bunch of G.I. Joe trading cards from it, on top of a whole lot of publicity. Logan Paul most recently fought against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition bout. Rumor has it that he’s going to fight Mike Tyson next. Meanwhile, Paul’s younger brother, Jake Paul, recently won his rematch against Tyron Woodley via a knockout in the sixth round.
