Fans have asked Konami for a new Silent Hill game for years but it never listened. They’ve never lost hope though, even after Konami dropped its mainstream gaming arm. Konami’s decision to skip E3 2021 after confirming it had multiple projects only fueled the speculation. But, it wasn’t until a few months back when eagle-eyed observers sighted an unannounced Silent Hill game on the Korean rating board that fans had a concrete reason to believe a potential franchise renaissance. With a single tweet, the official Silent Hill Twitter account sent the series’ hardcore fanbase into a frenzy by announcing that they’ll have an update for the state of Silent Hill two days from now on the 19th.

The latest updates for the SILENT HILL series, will be revealed during the #SILENTHILL Transmission on Wednesday, October 19th, at 2:00 PM. PDThttps://t.co/8Knoq9xYsa — Silent Hill Official (@SilentHill) October 16, 2022 It’s unclear what kind of game/s Konami will reveal later this week. However, it was reported last year that Konami is reviving Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill. In addition, earlier this year several insiders corroborated reports that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill 2 remake as part of Konami’s plans despite the studio’s denial. Konami had also taken down leaks of an in-development Silent Hill game, which all but confirmed rumors. If that’s not enough, the director of the original Silent Hill movie and the upcoming reboot, Christopher Gans, revealed that Konami is developing multiple Silent Hill games. Thankfully, we’ll find out more about what Konami has in store for Silent Hill soon. Konami sits on a treasure trove of IPs begging for a new entry. We’re hoping its plans for Silent Hill will kickstart the revival of the company’s other projects.
