The founder of Hazelight Studios and director of popular video games, It Takes Two and A Way Out, made this revelation during a recent interview with Video Game Chronicle. When asked about the progress of his new game, Fares explained that his studio, Hazelight Studio, was making progress. He, however, warned that there’s still plenty to do before it’s ready for publishing. In his words, “It’s definitely going in the right direction. And it’ll be something really f**king cool.” Fares also seemed to hint he’ll reveal his new game The Game Awards in December. This occurred after he confirmed that he will be at the show and will even present the year’s Game of the Year award to the winner. The game producer stated, “Get ready for me man, I’m coming. Trust me… it will blow your fucking mind.” A Way Out and It Takes Two share similar characteristics as split screen co-op action games with multiple genres, Hazelight Studios’ new game might be different. During the interview, the Swedish director said that the upcoming title will be a “surprise but in a good way.” Last month, Fares gave a sneak peek into the new game when he posted a selfie of himself alongside two mocap actors, which he tagged “sneak peek of the next game”. For many fans, the fact there were two actors in the image was enough proof that the new game will be another two-player co-op experience. Hazelight Studios has spent the better part of the past two years working on its new game. Even though Fares didn’t explicitly state that a reveal is coming in December, many fans will keep an eye out for his appearance. It’s possible that Fares will attend as a representative for It Takes Two, which won last year. At the moment, the frontrunners for the GOTY award are Elden Ring and God of War: Ragnarok.
