The latest piece of Bloodborne intel comes from Elden Ring insider, Omnipotent. In a screenshot of his conversations on a ResetEra thread, Omnipotent claimed that FromSoftware isn’t working on Bloodborne at all. Specifically, Omnipotent claims that Dark Souls creator, Hidetaka Miyazaki, said that FromSoftware has no plans of returning to Dark Souls and Bloodborne. The leaker also said that he’s “never come across anything being done with Bloodborne, even when actively seeking it out.” TLDR; if the most prominent Dark Souls sleuth can’t find any information about Bloodborne at all, we don’t know who will. If it’s any consolation, Bloodborne fans already know better than to expect a PS5 patch, sequel, or port, to come. The infamous Nvidia GeForce leak didn’t even leave any trace of Bloodborne at all, suggesting that FromSoftware is all but done with the game, at least for now. But, as Omnipotent says, “never say never”, and while FromSoftware isn’t working on Bloodborne, who’s to say that Bluepoint Games isn’t working on a port? In the past year, Sony has made several strategic acquisitions that put PlayStation Studios in an excellent position to extend the life of its most prominent exclusives by releasing them on the PC. After Days Gone last year, fans got God of War in January with Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection expected to follow suit. Since Sony owns Bluepoint Games and Nixxes Software, something with a connection to Bloodborne could be brewing. In a hypothetical situation, FromSoftware might not be involved with ongoing work on Bloodborne at all, but because the studio has part ownership of Bloodborne with Sony, the two could have agreed to postpone any Bloodborne-related announcements until Elden Ring is out. We do not doubt that this is a stretch, but, if we assume this is true, it would be a while before Sony confirms the leaked Bloodborne PS5 remaster. At the end of the day, all audiences can do about any Bloodborne update is speculate. For now, Souls fans can turn their attention to FromSoftware’s latest title, Elden Ring. After going gold last December, the highly anticipated title is finally going to launch on February 25.
