Deadline broke the news about the upcoming Grounded TV series where it revealed the Star Wars: Clone Wars writer, Brent Friedman, will serve as the showrunner with Halo 4 and 5 cinematics director, Brien Goodrich, on the board as the director.

Obsidian Entertainment has a lot of fans in the video game industry, but most will associate the Xbox Game Studios company with games like Fallout: New Vegas and, most recently, The Outer Worlds and its upcoming sequel as well as Avowed. However, you might have missed out on one of Obsidian’s less popular projects, Grounded. The still-in-development game has spent the past two years in Early Access and is scheduled to get a 1.0 release in September. According to the report, the Grounded animated TV series will share the same universe as the video game. So, we can expect to see kids working together to survive the horrifying background full of spiders and ants, among other suddenly-giant-sized critters. The Grounded TV show does not have a release date at the moment, but we’re hoping to get more info about it soon. Speaking of adaptations, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft are taking their library from living rooms to the small screen and the big screen. Paramount’s Halo TV show enjoyed above-average critical and audience scores in its debut and is now set to start filming its second season. We also know that there are adaptations of Minecraft and Fallout, among others, in development. As for Sony, HBO is working on a live-action adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us with shows based on the Horizon series, God of War, and Twisted Metal, all confirmed. Finally, Nintendo just formed Nintendo Pictures.
