WB Games Montreal joined Geoff Keighley at Gamescom 2022 to drop a new trailer for the upcoming DC title, Gotham Knights. As if to stimy the gut punch that was the cancelation of Batgirl, the latest trailer shows Barbara Gordon making mincemeat out of a bunch of goons. But, more importantly, we found out in Cologne, Germany, that Gotham Knights will come out four days earlier on October 21. Make sure to check out the trailer below as “Bratgirl” zips around Gotham and takes on the likes of Clayface. It appears that Batgirl is the one who called on the other members of the Batfamily to try and help out Gotham now that it’s without its iconic protector. If you thought that the 2015 game, Arkham Knight, featured a boatload of villains, Gotham Knights would like to have a word with you. Gotham Knights have had fans eager to find out more about it since it was first announced in 2020. Gotham Knights is set after the untimely death of Batman and look to feature the Court of Owls. With Gotham City in chaos, the former Bat proteges - Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin - will have to team up to try and save their mentor’s beloved city from swallowing itself. Even if it’s not part of the Arkhamverse, it’s clear that WB Games Montreal took notes from Rocksteady Studios. Unlike the vast majority of Batman outings, Gotham Knights will have four protagonists. WB Games Montreal has spent the past two years guaranteeing players that all four fighters are different from the other. Case in point, the Red Hood is more brutal while Robin is nimbler. It also comes with co-op play, so you and your friends can team up to save Gotham. WB Games Montreal initially delayed Gotham Knights by a year, citing the need for time to work on the game. Later on, the studio confirmed several important details about Gotham Knights such as its original release date. In between, WB Games Montreal revealed it has scrapped the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. After living rent-free in the heads of Batman fans for the better part of the past two years, we’ll find out on October 21 if Gotham Knights is worth the wait. As for Rocksteady Studios, the Arkham series developers have set their eyes on something different this time around. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will come out in 2023 and will reverse the table as it pits the titular group of anti-heroes and villains against a Justice League that has gone rogue.
