Square Enix was present at June 28’s Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase to reveal Nier Automata: The End of YorHa Edition, which is a re-release of the critically-acclaimed 2017 action role-playing game by PlatinumGames. The Nintendo Switch version of NieR Automata is coming on October 6 and will feature all previously released content for the game, including April 2017’s “3C3C1D119440927” DLC add-on. In addition, Square Enix confirmed that the Nintendo Switch port will enjoy an exclusive costume, specifically, what initially appears to be a fresh coat of paint for already-existing skins. Those who aren’t familiar with NieR Automata’s crossover with Final Fantasy 14 will think nothing of the new skin. But, for those who’ve played Square Enix’s hit MMO for a while, the new skins will be recognizable. The Switch-exclusive skin is actually an FF14-original character, 2P, who played a huge role in the YoRHA: Dark Apocalypse storyline as one of the primary antagonists for the entire event with the real 2B helping out the players. Many FF14 players consider YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse the best crossover event in the MMO in years. Some would go as far as to say that it’s one of the best gaming crossovers. If you have been meaning to play FFXIV for a while, you can check out the Alliance Raid series as soon as you’ve finished the Shadowbringers expansion’s main scenario quests. Speaking of Square Enix, June was quite an eventful month for the JRPG specialists. Earlier this month, Square Enix confirmed the release date for Final Fantasy VII Remake Rebirth, the second part of the FF7 Remake trilogy, as well as the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII remaster, and FF7 Ever Crisis. On top of this, Final Fantasy XVI also has a brand-new trailer and release window.
