However, one particular easter egg that deserves special attention concerns how every gamer’s favorite tyrannical AI, GLaDOS, found her way into the lawless Night City. Scroll down below to learn how to find GLaDOS in Cyberpunk 2077.
Who Is GLaDOS?
GLaDOS is short for Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System and was named to pay homage to MS-DOS, the classic personal computer operating system that dominated for much of the early 80s. The fictional, artificially superintelligent computer system is an antagonist-turned-deuteragonist in one of the most iconic characters from Valve’s first-person puzzle-platformer title, Portal. Initially, GLaDOS served as a guiding voice for players in the first game of the series, Portal. Then, slowly, GLaDOS would reveal her malicious intent. This led to a confrontation between the AI and players, which, SPOILER ALERT!, ultimately led to the destruction of GLaDOS. In the sequel, Portal 2, GLaDOS would return, albeit in a less powerful form. Now stuck on a potato battery, GLaDOS would reluctantly help out the player battle a new threat, all the while providing some witty banter and dialogue that made her and her voice so iconic.
How to Find GLaDOS in Cyberpunk 2077
Players can find GLaDOS in Cyberpunk 2077 as soon as they reach Act 2, which is right around the time that Johnny Silverhand starts appearing in your mind. Around this time, players will see a “Very Low” threat Side Mission in their Journal. This involves picking up V’s car from the garage, only to find it infected by a Delamain AI gone rogue. This will lead to the start of the “Epistrophy” Side Job where you’ll have to track down all of the vehicles with rogue Delamain AI. In one of the missions, you’ll find yourself heading over to Coastview to retrieve one of the lost cars. However, what makes this particular car special is that the AI is GLaDOS, who is back to her malicious ways. GLaDOS will gladly lead you into a trap, all the while entertaining you with a range of dialogue that’s literally taken straight out of the Portal video game franchise. Simply take care of the enemies, and GLaDOS will proceed to hate on you. Unfortunately, while the lines are awesome to hear in Cyberpunk 2077, it would’ve been better if there were some unique ones too. But, still, it’s a nice Easter Egg and arguably the one that will catch you completely off of your guard in Cyberpunk 2077.
