Who could forget this monologue from Vaas Montenegro, the secondary antagonist of 2012’s Far Cry 3 and arguably the best villain in the entire Far Cry series of games? Because of Vaas, the first-person shooter franchise has become synonymous with memorable villains. The mainline titles, in particular, are well-known for this. Far Cry 4 gave fans Pagan Min, the complicated villain that sometimes acted like a father figure to the game’s protagonist, Ajay. Meanwhile, for Far Cry 5, Ubisoft put the extremist religious terrorist, Joseph Seed, as the main baddie. It certainly looks like Far Cry 6 is going to live up to the series’ reputation. It features a tyrannical ruler known as Antón Castillo as the bad guy, who will be portrayed by Giancarlo Esposito of AMC’s Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul fame. That’s not all though. Ubisoft is planning something bigger for Far Cry 6 and a first in Far Cry history.

What’s New in the Far Cry 6 Season Pass?

It’s not unusual for Ubisoft to tease fans with future content that will be released as standalone DLC titles and as part of the Season Pass. Far Cry 6 is no exception. However, what makes the Far Cry 6 Season Pass different is that it will have arguably more to offer than the Far Cry games that preceded it. Without an Arcade Mode and Map Editor, Far Cry 6’s creative team focused its efforts on expanding the narrative of the game. The result is upcoming content for Far Cry 6 that will bring back the aforementioned bad guys like Vaas, Pagan, and Joseph. The only difference this time around is that you won’t be fighting against them. Instead, you’ll be playing as the very foes whose lives you once sought to put an end to as part of the Far Cry 6 Season Pass. If you don’t believe us, we recommend that you take a look at the trailer below yourself. Be warned, it’s going to make you even more excited about Far Cry 6. Considering all the hype that Ubisoft itself has drummed up for Far Cry 6, we can assume that Far Cry 6 is finally going to release soon. Far Cry 6 is one of the most highly anticipated delayed games of 2021. The latest mainline installment in the Far Cry series was expected to release in February 2021. Later on, Ubisoft decided to push back the release date of Far Cry 6 to October 7, 2021. In other Far Cry-related news, Ubisoft just announced three animated series based on its existing IPs are in the works. This includes two that are based on the Far Cry games, with another featuring Sam Fisher from the stealth shooter series of titles, Splinter Cell. All three will be airing on the popular streaming platform, Netflix.
