While the Fallout television project had been quietly coming along, there wasn’t much in the way of hyping it up. After the casting news that Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Aaron Moten, and Kyle MacLachlan, there had been very little detail that has leaked. Fans were particularly concerned about how the world of Fallout would look. But that drought of Fallout news has appeared to have ended. What have the set photos from the Fallout TV series production revealed so far? Check out the details below.
Familiar place
On Twitter, a user by the handle of @KingFanMan shared several on-set production photos for Fallout: The Series. One of the first leaked set photos revealed that one familiar location in the Fallout universe will be prominently featured. A Staten Island supermarket was shown as being modified to resemble a Super-Duper Mart. Fans of the Fallout franchise will recognize the Super-Duper Mart as a key area. Beginning with Fallout 3 and appearing as recently as Fallout 76, Super-Duper Marts resemble the real life major grocery franchises like Wal-Mart.

However, it also usually means there would be a relatively high number of other interested parties such as Raiders that come to claim the spoils within its confines. As it usually has stores of food, critters like Radroaches and Giant Rats are not uncommon hazards to deal with. In addition to the Super-Duper Mart itself, the location shows Vault-Tec branded merchandise, as well as a Vault Boy ad. Interestingly, it has Vault Boy wearing a mask in a similar fashion as people during the Coronavirus pandemic in the last couple of years. Other familiar sights to Fallout fans are the prevalence of non-functional, old and rusting cars.
Power up
Beyond the locations and familiar trappings of the Fallout universe, perhaps the most eye-catching so far is the reveal of the famous Vault-Tec power armor. Although the photos showed parts of the power armor, it appears to be mostly for display for now. There does seem to be work being done with hydraulics for the frame. There will likely be a lightweight version that actors can wear by the time principal photography begins.

Aside from often being one of the most iconic images in the franchise (along with the Vault-Tec jumpsuit and Vault Boy mascot), Fallout players know how valuable the armor can be. Thanks to its ability to enhance the wearer’s strength and durability, it can provide higher carrying capacity and better stability for wielding heavy assault weapons.

Plot unclear
The main plot for the Fallout TV series has not been revealed thus far. Although now that the Super-Duper Mart has been shown and slightly resembling the one near the town of Megaton, Fallout 3 might be the primary inspiration for the story. However, as adaptations in other media of popular video game franchises have shown in the past, the show will potentially take bits and pieces from all the Fallout games and spinoffs at some point. In an interview in January with Deadline, Bethesda executive producer and game director Todd Howard had this to say about the Fallout TV series: Developed by Kilter Films in association with Bethesda Game Studios, Fallout will be released on Prime Video. The release date for Fallout has yet to be officially announced.
