Iida, the game’s director, shared with Famitsu (via Gematsu) what his goals are for next year, and he said that the studio is “striving every day to be able to make a big announcement in 2023.” Unless Iida and Igarashi are talking about working with Konami on a new Castlevania game, then we’ll most likely hear about the sequel to Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night next year. Fingers crossed, the game’s release date isn’t too far off. As for Castlevania, the iconic video game franchise is getting long-overdue attention from mainstream media. This is largely thanks to the success of Netflix’s anime adaptation. After the main show’s conclusion, a spin-off, Castlevania: Nocturne, is set to premiere in the next few years. Also, Santa Monica Studio just hinted at wanting to do a Castlevania game now that Konami’s pretty much forgotten about the series. Finally, Castlevania is crossing over into Dead Cells next year.
