At nearly two meters tall and 260 pounds with 21-inch arms, Johnson is an imposing figure. Yet, somehow, the Jumanji star has found a way to make himself look larger for his DCEU debut in Warner Bros.’ Black Adam live-action adaptation this October. As shared by Johnson in a recent behind-the-scenes clip of him on the set of Black Adam, the former WWE wrestler is looking massive. Maybe it’s just how tight the costume is, but given how he has always been so vocal about wanting to play Black Adam for so long, we wouldn’t be surprised if Johnson dedicated himself to a whole new level of fitness to give his portrayal of the ruler of Kahndaq justice.

Anyone who’s followed Johnson’s career closely knows that he’s lobbied hard to make a Black Adam movie for over a decade. Now that it’s finally happening, we can only imagine just how exciting it is for Johnson to bring one of his personal heroes to the big screen. Of course, just because Johnson is a big star and loves the role, this doesn’t mean that Black Adam will be a big hit. History suggests that we should temper our expectations when it comes to the DCEU. The only consolation is that the latest preview and the recent Black Adam stills suggest that the upcoming DCEU movie is coming well together. The only thing that we have to do now is to pray that the delay was worth it. Black Adam was initially scheduled to premiere in July before the DCEU pushed it back to October 21 to do reshoots. If we’re lucky and Black Adam pulls in big numbers at the global box office, then we might be looking at Johnson and Black Adam as the new tentpoles of the DCEU. Speaking of the DC Extended Universe, Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, is reportedly looking to overhaul the DCEU and wants a Kevin Feige-like figure to oversee everything. It’s still unclear if Zaslav has found the right individual for the job.
