As pointed out by VGC, PlayStation Studios animator, Robert Morrison, has taken to Twitter these past few months to hint at several unannounced projects for the PlayStation platform. In one tweet, Morrison said, “PlayStation has some bangers coming out this year.” The use of the plural version of the slang word implies that Sony is holding out on PlayStation owners, for some reason. Upon further digging, Morrison’s Linkedin page states that he has worked at PlayStation Studios Visual Arts since 2018 and that he’s worked on a “secret” project for the last 3-5 years. Morisson also made sure that fans knew that he wasn’t talking about God of War. Before working for Visual Arts, Morrison was a senior animator at Santa Monica Studio. In a later tweet, the animator clarified that the studio is “not working on Ragnarok, but something equally cool.” Fans are currently theorizing the meaning behind what Morrison said. Some believe that Morrison made a typo and that he was talking about what the elusive PlayStation studio is currently working on. In this regard, the prevailing theory is that PlayStation Studios Visual Arts will either announce or release the still-unconfirmed The Last of Us remake this year. For what it’s worth, Naughty Dog is working on several projects right now. Neil Druckmann never shed light on what the studio is up to these days, but fans believe that the unnamed projects are related to The Last of Us. Either way, we should hear more from Druckmann soon after the filming of The Last of Us live-action TV adaptation ends. The last known info about the Pedro Pascal-led show is that the cameras are still rolling. As for Sony, the latter half of 2022 is looking pretty slim. Outside of God of War: Ragnarok, Sony doesn’t have another heavy-hitting exclusive lined up capable of competing against S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2, Starfield, and Redfall, among others. In other news, Sony’s acquisition spree is just getting started. After buying Bungie earlier this year, the console manufacturer is reportedly working on acquiring another company that’s much larger than Kojima Productions. Meanwhile, Sony just made a huge investment in Epic Games’ metaverse for a billion.
