An October-November release for the new Dead Space would have been ideal for the sci-fi title. Instead, eager fans will have to wait for a few more months until the calendar year turns to 2023 in order to get their hands on the remake. The good news is that the Q1 release window hasn’t seemed to have hurt Techland’s pair of Dying Light games, one of which came out in February to good-but-not-great reviews. In their latest developer update, EA Motive was very clear with its goal. Specifically, the studio clarified that it wants to deliver a game that “is going to be building upon the expectations of fans.” The studio teases that they already “have a date in mind” outside of an early 2023 release window, but it appears that they don’t want to shoot themselves in the foot by announcing a specific date too early only to delay it beforehand. Motive added that it is close to having a full walkthrough of Dead Space available, all while clarifying that everything fans have seen so far is the game in its very “early alpha” stage.

ARRIVAL WINDOW: EARLY 2023…#DeadSpace pic.twitter.com/Et89fS617W — Dead Space (@deadspace) March 11, 2022 All of this is to say that Motive has done a fine job in bringing its vision to life. The game’s official announcement last year was nothing short of terrifying. If the few glimpses of Dead Space that we have seen so far are effectively a rough draft of the game, then Motive can delay the game for as long as they want, provided it leads to a product that’s just as good if not better than what we saw. We already know that the studio has high aims for the game, promising zero microtransactions and loading screens, which is achievable on current-gen consoles like the Xbox Series S/X and the PlayStation 5. Motive ended its latest Dead Space Remake update by promising to drop more news shortly, focusing on the game’s art direction the next time.
