Gunn is probably one of the busiest people in the entertainment industry right now. For the next 10 months, he will be wearing both DC Studios and Marvel Studios hats. Aside from the the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special on Disney Plus, he also has the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to promote and work on, which will be released next year. Meanwhile, rumors and speculation abound as to what he and Safran are cooking up for the long-term overhaul of the DC Universe. But what did James Gunn have to say about these rumors? Find out more below. On the website Small Screen, an article by Edward Lauder was posted on November 18, 2022 stating that Henry Cavill will be back for multiple DC Studios projects, including TV shows. Later, the Geekosity website by Mikey Sutton referenced this in a separate article on its own website. This article was shared on Twitter.

But the DC Studios co-head clearly wants to be transparent regarding who knows the actual facts going on behind-the-scenes. James Gunn and Peter Safran were elevated to the position of DC Studios Co-CEOs on October 25. The appointment became effective on November 1st. Since then, the duo have been in close discussion with their boss, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, on the creative and business directions they will be taking the DC Universe, such as focusing on proven franchises. In fact, Zaslav has confirmed that the CEO pair of DC Studios have been building a roadmap or bible for the DCU. According to the WBD head honcho during the RBC 2022 Global TIMT Conference : This means the news about James Gunn hinting at a Mister Terrific project, or possibly Kingdom Come, as a climax to their plans is just speculation based on what he has been sharing on social media. Thus, it may or may not be the facts, at least until they fully reveal their plans. When will they reveal said plans? Speculation is that it will not happen any sooner than January 2023. But as James Gunn has pointed out, only he and Peter Safran know for certain. In the meantime, fans can catch James Gunn’s recent work on a DC property via Peacemaker, available on HBO Max. And for his last Marvel Studios project this 2022, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be airing on Disney+ starting this Black Friday November 25.
