After confirming that he’s going to star in a buddy cop movie with Jason Momoa, with MGM securing the rights to the film, the action star is now set to take the lead in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming movie.
Bautista continues to explore his range as an actor
Earlier this year, we found out that Bautista doesn’t want to work with fellow wrestlers like John Cena. It’s not that he has anything personal against his fellow WWE stars, and Cena appears to understand Bautista. To be honest, you can’t exactly knock on Bautista’s efforts. In addition to the MCU, Bautista has delivered effective performances in movies and shows such as 2015’s Spectre, where he broke star Daniel Craig’s nose, and one of Apple’s most-watched shows, See. Bautista has even shown that he’s capable of starring in a lead role after Zack Snyder cast him as Scott Ward in Netflix’s Army of the Dead. Now, Deadline has confirmed that Bautista is going to star in Knock at the Cabin. Unfortunately, details about the upcoming film from Shyamalan remain scarce. The only confirmed information is that Shyamalan will write, direct, and produce the movie that’s slated to premiere in theaters on February 3, 2023. It’s interesting to see Bautista getting a chance to work with some of the most talented directors in the industry. He most recently wrapped up filming Rian Johnson’s Knives Out 2 and is expected to reprise his role as Beast Rabban Harkonnen in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two. Seeing Bautista get a chance to work with another award-winning director bodes well for his future in the industry. With that said, Bautista should have his hands full for the next two years. His most prominent project remains Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which was unaffected by Disney’s decision to delay several MCU movies. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to premiere on May 5, 2023.
