CD Projekt Red previously stated that Cyberpunk 2007’s post-release support will be very similar to that of The Witcher 3, which was universally praised for its approach to DLC. A Twitter user asked the official Cyberpunk 2077 account about whether or not the game will have free DLC like the Witcher 3 did. The response from the developers came in the form of a Kool-Aid Man gif, which is a pretty enthusiastic confirmation.

Additionally, the game was treated to two larger paid expansions with new areas and entire storylines including dozens of hours of gameplay. CD Projekt Red is well known for their generous post-launch content support plans. Both The Witcher and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings got entire “enhanced edition” upgrades for free with a bunch of improvements and additional content, and we’ve already covered the bonus goodies The Witcher 3 players got. You could even activate a free “back-up copy” of these games on GoG if you own them on other platforms and can prove said ownership to GoG customer support.
This means that buying Cyberpunk 2077 is almost like getting a free season pass next to the title. You may think that a few quests, weapons and pieces of armor are minor, but keep in mind that many games charge real cash for even less. CDPR has stated that they wish this kind of content support would become an industry standard, but it seems like few other developers and publishers are willing to commit to this kind of model.
