Case in point, a new teaser all but confirms that fan-favorite game modes, Capture The Flag and Domination, are returning. Most fans are familiar with the objective-based game modes. Domination sees players fight to take control of three flags. Meanwhile, Capture the Flag, features flags as well. The main difference is that the teams fight each other to protect the flags from capture. The two are part of the quartet of classic Call of Duty game modes along with Search and Destroy as well as Deathmatch. Having said that, the countdown video for this week’s upcoming Call of Duty event features several teasers for MWII, which include potential points of interest and perk logos along with the aforementioned game modes.

— Hope (@TheGhostOfHope) September 10, 2022 After two years of relatively lower sales, Activision Blizzard expects a lot from MW2. Thus, it makes sense for Infinity Ward to throw anything but the kitchen sink. It’s a good thing we won’t have to wait for a long time to find out what kind of modes we can look forward to in Modern Warfare 2 at launch and soon after. In addition to the Next event on the 15th, Activision will hold the first multiplayer meta for Modern Warfare 2 starting on the 16th. PlayStation owners who pre-ordered the game will get first dibs on the shooter as the rest wait for a week. In total, the Modern Warfare 2 beta will last a total of 10 days. This should give players plenty of time to decide for themselves if Infinity Ward hit the target on this one or if it will continue the downward trajectory of the franchise. Furthermore, Modern Warfare 2 will be here on October 28. Rumors suggest that Activision will support the MW2 reboot/sequel for two years. If it’s not true that Capture the Flag and Domination will be in the game at launch, Activision would be making a huge mistake if they didn’t add them in eventually. Speaking of Call of Duty, the best-selling franchise is headed to the Game Pass as soon as Activision Blizzard becomes a part of Microsoft Gaming. Also, Microsoft just confirmed that it will give its competition, PlayStation, more years of Call of Duty. Albeit, Jim Ryan, the CEO and President of Sony Interactive Entertainment, claims that the offer was “inadequate on so many levels.” Finally, we just got word that Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile will be a part of the event on the 15th.
