Reliable horror game leaker Dusk Golem shared that fans should be getting some new juicy bits of information for the Resident Evil 4 remake in the coming months. According to the leaker, Capcom typically starts its big marketing push three months before the release of its games. “Btw, I’d say it’s very likely that there will be some new RE:4 news this months,” Dusk Golem tweets. “There’s definitely implications there was a press event for RE:4 in December probably, & usually Capcom kicks off a bigger marketing push for Resident Evil games about 3 months to release.” The leaker adds, “While there’s not an iron-clad rule to how Capcom does marketing (RE:3 & RE8 for example shifted things a bit to how they usually do it), there’s a loose formula to Capcom’s Resident Evil marketing you can definitely pick-up on. We’re probably pretty close to the 3rd trailer & the “2-4 hour” hands-on gameplay section impressions part of Capcom’s marketing of RE games. RE7, RE:2, RE:3 & RE8 all got media drops like this around this window of time.”
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) January 1, 2023 With the game being slated for release in late March, we can look forward to Capcom to start hyping the game in the coming weeks. So far, we’ve had only two official trailers with the latest one being released in October 2022. We also got an extended gameplay for the game along with the trailer. Based on the gameplay video, the new Resident Evil 4 looks to have a darker tone and a tenser atmosphere compared to the original. The visuals, character design, as well as the environment have been largely improved from Resident Evil 4. Capcom’s Yoshiaki Hirabayashi recently said that the team is working to provide more information about the upcoming game. Hirabayashi revealed that the game is in the “final spurt” of its development. “We are working hard to provide you with more information about Resident Evil RE:4 in preparation for its release on March 24th,” Hirabayashi in the year-end interview with the Japanese gaming website Famitsu. “The game is also in the final spurt to make the team united and make it a little better. Please wait just a little longer.” Going by Hirabayashi-san’s statement, fans should expect that the Resident Evil 4 remake will be released on schedule.
