Blizzard revealed Overwatch 2’s monumental achievement on Twitter and it used the “mind-blown” emoji to describe what just happened.

Thank you to the 25 Million Players who have now jumped into #Overwatch2 with us 💙🧡 pic.twitter.com/2ESBr5Shmk — Overwatch (@PlayOverwatch) October 14, 2022 According to Blizzard, Overwatch 2’s audience is spread “near-even” across multiple regions and it’s already tripling the record daily peak numbers of the original Overwatch. In addition to this, the dev team revealed that the latest Overwatch 2 hero, Kiriko, has proven to be very popular among players. But, of course, there’s this caveat that Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play game. Not to mention, Blizzard removed the “SMS Protect” feature, which opened up the game to cheaters. Hopefully, Blizzard can keep up Overwatch 2’s current level of success while fixing its bugs, and issues, as well as minimizing its cheating problem. For now, Blizzard wants to celebrate the 25-million-player milestone by rewarding players with a free “Cursed Captain Reaper” legendary skin and a “Health Pack” weapon charm from October 25 until Season 1 ends. Also, Overwatch 2 will enjoy double XP weekends on the following dates:

October 21 at 11:00 AM PT until October 24 at 11:00 AM PT October 28 at 11:00 AM PT until October 31 at 11:00 AM PT November 24 at 11:00 AM PT until November 28 at 11:00 AM PT

In other news, Activision Blizzard insists on enabling the “SMS Protect” feature for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but it will be exclusive to the PC.
