Most of Blizzard’s games are launched after going through several rounds of tests, which is why almost all of them launch in such a polished and playable state. Diablo II: Resurrected is no exception. Even though the remake of the classic ARPG title looks mighty fine already ahead of its September 23, 2021 release date, Blizzard is still going to hold both early access and open beta tests in the weeks leading up to the game’s release.
When are the Diablo 2 Resurrected early access and open beta dates?
The upcoming remaster of the classic loot-action game was always going to get an open beta. The only question was when, and Blizzard just answered this with an official announcement:
💀 Early Access Beta: 8/13 - 8/16⚔️ Open Beta: 8/20 - 8/22🔥 Launch Day: 9/23 📜 https://t.co/FXox59Pt6d pic.twitter.com/S8VQ2UWUDl — Diablo (@Diablo) August 10, 2021 According to the statement, the early access beta will start on August 13 and will run through to August 16. The early access beta is exclusive to those who pre-ordered Diablo 2: Resurrected or bought the Diablo: Prime Evil Collection. The latter is a bundle that includes Diablo 2: Resurrected and Diablo 3: Eternal Collection, as well as a Mephisto pet and Hatred’s Grasp wings for Diablo 3. For those who didn’t pre-order the game or don’t plan on doing so, don’t worry. Blizzard is still going to host an open beta from August 20 to 22. With at least two extensive public beta tests a month before the game launches, the development team will have a wealth of information that they can use to make sure that the game’s launch goes as smoothly as possible on September 23. In other Blizzard news, the company is currently under the microscope, with the gaming community scrutinizing its every move. Things started going downhill for Blizzard with the recent lawsuit that alleges the company had a culture of sexism and abusive behavior within the workplace. This resulted in a 9% drop in the company’s share values and the resignation of J. Allen Brack from his position as the CEO of Blizzard.
