All eyes were on Microsoft and Bethesda to talk a lot about upcoming titles, especially now that Microsoft officially owns ZeniMax Media. After confirming earlier this year that Microsoft will be releasing future Bethesda games as Xbox exclusives, the first of many Xbox-exclusive titles from Bethesda was announced at E3 2021 as Starfield was announced as an Xbox-exclusive title. According to the game’s Executive Producer, Todd Howard, Starfield is “kind of like” The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim in structure. Of course, the main difference is that Starfield will be set in space. Starfield has been Bethesda’s top priority for the past couple of years now, so fans are understandably excited. It also doesn’t help quell excitement that The Elder Scrolls 6 is nowhere in sight. However, it’s unfortunate that Starfield will be exclusive to the Xbox Series S/X.

Pete Hines Apologies to PS5 Fans in GameSpot Interview

In an interview for GameSpot’s Play For All 2021, Bethesda SVP of Global Marketing and Communications, Pete Hines, apologizes about the exclusivity of Starfield. Hines let fans know in his interview that he understands why a lot felt unhappy about the announcement. If it’s any consolation though, Hines did talk up Xbox Game Pass as a potential solution for PS5 owners who want to play Starfield. Just in case you missed it, Starfield is one of the many Xbox-exclusive titles that will be launching on the Xbox Game Pass on the day of its release. The list stands more than a dozen strong and some of these are AAA games. We definitely recommend checking out the round-up of all the upcoming Xbox Game Pass games announced at E3 2021. This way, you’ll know more about the games that are set to make Microsoft’s video game subscription service all the more worth the money. Among the many big titles releasing on the Xbox Game Pass at launch include Microsoft Flight Simulator for the Xbox Series S/X, Forza Horizon 5, and Halo Infinite. With that said, it seems like Microsoft’s investment in the Xbox Game Pass and ZeniMax Media are about to pay off big time. The former is already considered the best video game subscription service right now. It recently saw titles like Outriders and MLB The Show 21 become available at launch. The latter was especially surprising considering that it was developed by a Sony first-party studio. Ultimately, it’s not wrong for Hines to suggest the Xbox Game Pass as an alternative. As we’ve already mentioned, the Xbox Game Pass library is unrivaled right now. It will only get better in time.
