Specifically, it dropped a brief teaser video telling viewers to “GET READY” and to “save the D8”. It didn’t contain other info but we’re expecting an extensive trailer for Tekken 8, probably with gameplay footage. Bandai first teased Tekken 8 at EVO 2022 before it was officially unveiled at the September PlayStation State of Play showcase. As always, the long-running family feud will be central in the upcoming sequel. The first footage we saw of Tekken 8 featured Kazuya and his son, Jin Kazama, butting heads in the middle of a heavy storm. But, what really stood out about the initial Tekken 8 footage is the updated graphics, as it will use Unreal Engine 5. If nothing else, Tekken 8 should have a leg up over Street Fighter 6. Unlike one of its chief rivals, Tekken 8 is a current-gen exclusive title. Speaking of, Street Fighter 6 is also expected to be at The Game Awards after eagle-eyed fans spotted the game being rated in South Korea. Both Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 are scheduled to launch sometime next year.
