After an initial teaser last month, Activision Blizzard and Infinity Ward confirmed that they’ll show off more of the game on June 8, and that’s exactly what they did. The fan-favorite squad from Infinity Ward’s line of Call of Duty games returns for this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and the first official trailer shows Price, Soap, Gaz, and Ghost, as well as Vargas, all ready to combat a hostile threat both in their home country and beyond. To no one’s surprise, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn’t a single-player-exclusive affair - there’s going to be plenty of multiplayer to go around as well. This is on top of the sequel to Warzone, which is also coming out later this year. After waiting for a long time, Activision and Infinity Ward finally fed us more footage of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The only question now is, when are more coming? Don’t worry, you won’t have to wait too long to find out more about the new Call of Duty adventure. According to the official Call of Duty Twitter account, Modern Warfare 2 will appear at the Summer Game Fest on June 9 on its opening night stream with a “world premiere gameplay level.” This would suggest that we’ll see a more campaign-focused look at the upcoming event. Unfortunately, we’re not sure when Call of Duty will drop during Summer Game Fest. Then again, with E3 2022 out of the picture, you might as well keep tabs on the entire thing. This year’s Summer Game Fest will kick off on June 9 at 2:00 PM ET or 11:00 AM PT or 7:00 PM BST (that’s June 10 at 4:00 AM if you’re in Australia). Speaking of Call of Duty, we shouldn’t expect Activision Blizzard’s marquee shooter to appear at the Xbox and Bethesda showcase on June 12 and June 14. There are still reports that Activision will prioritize PlayStation owners for this year’s Call of Duty. Since Microsoft’s acquisition hasn’t pushed through yet, Call of Duty and the rest of Activision Blizzard aren’t owned by Sony’s main rival yet.
