The new season has, as a main highlight, the presentation of Fuse, the 16th legend of the game, described as a carefree enthusiast of explosives, as well as new cosmetics, updates, and what Respawn calls the iconic map’s third major overhaul. King’s Canyon can’t get a rest.

Who is Fuse, the 16th Legend of Apex?

Fuse’s real name is Walter Fitzroy and he is from planet Salvo. After many misadventures, he will meet his greatest challenge in the Apex Games. His official description is “Fuse doesn’t lack confidence, but he often lacks a plan. He’s a blow-up-first ask-questions-later kinda guy.” From his Stories from the Outlands video, we can see he has a bombastic relationship with a childhood friend, Mags. They find a golden grenade from the Salvonian freedom fighters and as Fuse and Mags grow, they engage in some dubious activities: advancing against armed soldiers, disarming a bomb, and trying to steal a championship belt equipped with an alarm. All while they keep changing the ownership of the golden grenade. When Mags is furious with the announcement that Salvo has accepted to join the Syndicate, she also receives the news that Fuse is going to join the Apex Games (coincidentally Syndicate is the organizer of the games). This made Mags lose her head and Fuse his arm because she throws the golden grenade and it explodes. Unhurt by the loss of his arm, we notice what hurts more is the loss of his best friend.

What’s New in Apex Season 8?

Besides Fuse, so far, EA has confirmed a new weapon, the 30-30 Repeater Rifle—Apex’s first lever-action gun. It’s Salvo’s most popular weapon and we can see Fuse holding it in a brochure. King’s Canyon will undergo its third change, so expect many destroyed places and a giant ship to be buried. As always, the Battle Pass will bring new legendary skins, Apex packs, and several prizes while you climb Season 8 ranks. You can check the gameplay trailer below:

When Does Apex Season 8 Starts?

Season 8 starts immediately after the ending of Season 7, on February 2, 2021. Additionally, on February 4, Apex will celebrate 2 years of release, and last year they gifted everyone who logged in during the anniversary week a charm, a loyalty badge, and 10k XP for the first match of the day the entire week. Additional Information for Apex Season 8

We also have some information not confirmed by the official website, but that was mentioned at some point by Apex’s team. Design director Jason McCord tweeted that damage tracking could be included in the new season. But consider it a fragile promise, since he been saying that for some seasons now. He also teased a new Bloodhound skydive emote, either to the next event or new season, which can be both since the next event will be the anniversary, and consequently will be in the next season. So expect a new Bloodhound skydive emote! The Season 8 theme is called Mayhem and has the following tag line: “Time to bring the boom.” You can see how explosive it will be by checking out the trailer below:
