Meanwhile, news of Snoop Dogg’s arrival in Call of Duty dates back to February. Although it might seem weird seeing these three in a video game, it’s not without precedence. Snoop Dogg, in particular, has appeared in several video games in the past, even landing the starring role in 2013’s Way of the Dogg.

It’s all but confirmed that something big is coming to Call of Duty and fans are convinced some gigantic creature is involved. What’s interesting here is that Activision is bringing in both Godzilla and King Kong. This suggests that Activision is taking a page off of Epic’s Fortnite playbook to introduce “boss battles” into its marquee shooter. If true, then we’re curious to find out how successful this event is going to be. Unlike Fortnite, which embraces its quirkiness, Activision’s shooter prefers to take things more seriously. While Call of Duty has had zombies for years, gargantuan monstrosities are an entirely different story. Only time will tell if the latest unannounced addition to Warzone and Vanguard will be a hit among fans. Speaking of Call of Duty, Sledgehammer Games is reportedly already working on the next Call of Duty, years before it is scheduled to come. Meanwhile, Activision has “confirmed” that it is no longer releasing a new Call of Duty game every year. Finally, rumor has it that Activision is adding NFTs to Call of Duty despite Blizzard’s insistence that it’s not going the cryptocurrency route.
