After delaying Halo Infinite for over a year, most thought that 343 had everything prepared to drop Microsoft’s marquee shooter as a complete package. Instead, the campaign co-op and forge modes weren’t available in Halo Infinite at launch. Now, it appears at least one of these features is coming in August. According to 343’s most recent roadmap update, the studio wants to release online co-op by August with couch co-op gaming scheduled for later. 343 is obviously struggling with Halo Infinite’s new model. It’s come to the point that Halo Infinite has fewer players than Halo: The Master Chief Collection. 343’s constant pushing of the release of highly anticipated features definitely doesn’t help. ack in December, 343 promised to roll out the co-op mode along with Halo Infinite’s season two update. Then, following the delay of the game’s second season to May, 343 later confirmed that fans will have to wait a while longer for campaign co-op. The recent update to Halo Infinite, though welcome, remains disappointing to fans who expected more content now that the shooter is a live-service title. It’s a huge shame that 343 continues to fail to deliver on its initial promises as Halo Infinite had great reviews when it first came out. But, it’s not all bad news. 343 is at least still willing to keep audiences in the loop. Not to mention, the long-time Halo developers are targeting the release of multiple features by later this year. Case in point, 343 wants players to replay campaign missions by August with plans for Forge mode’s open beta a month later. 343 will also hold a community live stream on Wednesday, April 27, to share more details about Halo Infinite’s upcoming second season. The delays and issues definitely are not a good look for Halo Infinite now that it’s getting more mainstream attention thanks to Halo’s success on Paramount Plus. Hopefully, 343 can rebound and find a way to make Halo Infinite interesting for hardcore franchise fans and incoming beginners
