Although Warner Bros. hasn’t officially confirmed a successor, it appears that James Gunn is taking Snyder’s place. After wowing audiences and critics with last year’s The Suicide Squad, Gunn got a chance to work on a spin-off show, Peacemaker, which centered on John Cena’s character from the film. As it turns out, Peacemaker enjoyed more success on HBO Max than The Suicide Squad, with a second season already confirmed. Now, Gunn just confirmed that he’s working on more projects for DC going forward....

DC Comics and Ackles have quite a bit of history together. Ackles was a regular in Season 4 of Smallville as one of Lana Lang’s love interests, Jason Teague. He later lent his voice to 2010’s animated DC Comics film, Batman: Under the Red Hood, as Jason Todd. According to the legendary horror filmmaker, John Carpenter, he’d like to do a Dead Space movie if he had the chance. Carpenter’s penchant for horror, action, and sci-fi, makes him the ideal candidate to helm a live-action adaptation of Dead Space. The best part is that the Halloween creator is open to it. In fact, Carpenter has singled out Dead Space several times before, so he’s clearly had a chance to brainstorm some ideas over the years....

According to a new patent filed by Microsoft (via Game Rant), it’s describing a cloud-based streaming service that can implement unspecified enhancements in older games right there and then. This would effectively eliminate the need for dedicated fans to come up with fixes for unplayable games years after their launch. On paper, this is great, but the actual implementation remains to be seen. Not to mention, we don’t think Sony and Nintendo will let any “alterations” made to its older games pass....

Despite Activision standing to lose millions in the process, the gaming community wonders if Call of Duty will eventually become exclusive to the Xbox. It doesn’t help either that Xbox head, Phil Spencer, confirmed that Overwatch, Diablo, as well as Call of Duty, are all headed to the Game Pass as soon as the deal closes. According to Windows Central, Microsoft is asking Xbox Insider members if they’re open to scaling back graphical performance in recent games. Specifically, the survey wants to know if gamers will accept a compromise in graphical fidelity, which includes lower resolutions and frame rates, in exchange for a marked decrease in power consumption. Although this feature is still not implemented, it could apply to both active and inactive games. Finally, Microsoft wants to know if users would like to name these features as “eco-saving” or “energy-saving”....
